I purchased a roll at an estate sale and was curious to peoples opinions. I have used Homasote as a base with cork roadbed. This latest layout I am using foam board as a base. I have plenty of cork to complete the layout (LOL) but this product looked like it may provide a quieter roadbed.
Opinions?
I used this Woodlands scenic roll when I added a a 3 track service yard on my layout. My base is 2" foam from Lowes and it is quiet.
I used the Woodland scenics track bed and found it easy to work with. I painted it grey with cheap craft paint before securing it to the green insulation (from Lowe's) that I used for sub-road bed. I then used Elmer's to glue the track to the roadbed. I used nails to secure turnouts. This secured the roadbed and track and was very easy to lift up when making changes. I found this road bed easy to work around curves and piecing it in for turnouts. I also like the square foam roadbed sections for yards. Never worked with cork so I cannot compare.
