This is a video of a QA&P coal load somewhere out west, being pulled by 5 Frisco SD40-2's up the 1.5% ruling grade. The Frisco only rostered 5 SD40-2's. The first scenes show the train leaving the yard at 10~ mph then picking up a little speed later. I tried pulling the hill with 4 units, but stalled.

That's right, Tom. Their outlet gates are actually the right kind for this car so I left them alone. I did have some extra parts from Tangent 4750 kits so I used the brake pipe part to add to this car.

Reviving this thread too. First quick western pictures I could find-- southbound UP freight departs Arden Yard in Las Vegas, April 2021. I stood on that overpass for over an hour waiting for something to go by. And when a train finally showed up, the clouds rolled in, unfortunately leaving it in shadow. I chased it all the way down to Jean, NV, where it switched a local industry, but never got any decent pictures.

I caught the DRGW 5411 sitting on the east lead in Grand Junction CO in 1996.

Here it is at La Grange IL, a guy at Burnham shops working for EMD used to give images to guys that were rail fans too. An EMD photo. A spankin new DRGW 5411, prolly still had the brass reverser in it.
