StealZap on Digitrax

Since I installed a new Digitrax DCS240+command station, I keep getting StealZap on my throttle when tryin to dial up a locomotive.
This happens with either my DT402D or my DT500D throttles. They have been working fine for the past 10 years or so on this system. The several batteries I have tried are freshly charged.
This only happens when I'm not plugged into the loconet. If I do plug into the loconet, I have no problem dialing up a new loco.
When the loco is dialed up, I have full control of it when unplugged from the loconet.
This wasn't happening when I had the previous DCS100 on the system.
I have two UR92s in the basement to ensure there aren't any dead spots in the basement.

Yeah, I read that.
I've also opened a help ticket with Digitrax. Their suggestions are almost humorous but no help at all. I tried to open another help ticket, but their site is down now.

Geezo criminey. I should get some kind of Nobel Prize for finding this.
StealZap can be disabled on the DT402 series throttle with the following steps.
Push OPTN button.
Turn right throttle knob until XP Slots appears.
Push N button so Off appears in window.
Push ENTER.

What the hell kind of error message is that? Sorry, I tested software for years, and I have no tolerance for that BS.

No. It's telling ya what it's doing. It's stopping you from stealing a loco that's dialed up on another throttle.
Sometimes, the other throttle doesn't even need to be active and it will still stop you from acquiring the loco.
It's based on the command station. If the slots table shows that loco on another throttle, ypu'll get a StealZap message unless you disable it.

That explains it. But I would have had the message say “cannot acquire locomotive” or some such, instead of jargon.
