as im getting ready to start the the track laying and wiring i want to look into getting a solder gun but wasnt sure what type and wattage i was wondering if this radio shack model

would be a saficiant soldering gun for modeling uses such as soldering track and wires. i didnt want to get anything real expensive because i would use it much i would think and i wanted something electrical not butane
You'll get what you pay for. I personally don't like RS products.
Go to a Lowes or Home Depot and get a Weller. You'll pay a little more but it will be worth it.
any good type you would suggest and whats a good wattage?
For track, I like around 40 watts. I also like Wellar. Opinions will vary.
would a weller thermal boost solder kit be a good choice it appears too go up to 130 watts?

NO problem with the questions. I think 135 might be a bit much. But I'll defer to other opinions.
