Open Axles

Hey guys,

Im going to be modeling the HLCX 7199 in the near future, and Im wondering if you guys knew of any manufacturer that makes open axles/wheel bearings to replace the closed ones that come with all stock engines from HO guys. Replacing the sideframes with SD60 trucks wouldn't be accurate either, so I was wondering if some detail company made anything.

Details west, or Details Associates has an axle bearing, I think is a round casting, you trim out the spot and slip it in there.

Also, Smokey Valley, has an HTC side frame with exposed bearings, walthers part # 676-137.

Thanks for the help Josh, I'll have to check out the SV one. The DW looks like a car wheelbearing to me though. Can anyone confirm it is for diesels?

If I remember correct it is a diesel one, though it takes some modification to get it into the side frame.

Drill, I'd think they'd have a suggested bit size to match the bearing.
