Modeling big City Transit (Elevated Lines & Trolleys)

Hello fellow Modelers !

I model NY City Elevated and Subway Trains in 2-Rail O-SCALE running on fully hand built NYC prototype scale Elevated structures - along with streetcars running below the EL. The streetcars run opn the overhead trolley wire but the streetcar tracks have "changeover" toggles on their panel board to allow 2 rail (insulated wheels) engines and cars to run on the trolley track.

I have attached four photos on this message, of this huge operationg Rapid Transit Layout.

Here ALSO are two site links to my quite large layout, called the
"N.Y. City Model Transit System - "EL" and Trolley layout"

The first Site Link is:

The other second larger Site, see Links BELOW, is hosted by FLICKR - and also has VIDEOS of my O-Scale NYC subway and EL trains, and trolleys, operating on my system, along with countless still photos of the Layout. On this "Photostream" page, you will see a link for "SETS" -- and that SETS page (see 3rd Link BELOW) shows the layout in photos and videos in ALBUM SETS categorized for showcasing certain portions of the layout and its rolling stock, by their particular subject matter.

Be sure to check the NIGHT SCENES Photo Album in the SETS page !

I model most styles NY City pre-war steel subway and wooden elevated car rolling stock, and post war steel subway cars, and many types of streetcars, as well as a large amount of the pre and post war era Maintenance (Work Train) cars.

My layout can span any scene eras of the 1940's thru 1990's, just by changing the roadway vehicles and trains operating on the EL to reflect a particular era.

For any of you who lived in, grew up in, or worked in the NY City region in or over and period in the past 60 years, you will relate to and enjoy this modeling.
This layout is totally "modular" built and has been exhibited at various large train shows over a number of years back in the 1986-1991 period. Transported in a 30' Box Truck ! It is set up in my home based train room.

Wow that is amazing work Joe!
I can just see Jake and Elwood Blues racing thru all those girders! (even tho they were in Chicago) :)
I'll dig around a little more when I get time.
