The Monon Society only made less then 200 of each It's a Mckean model
Looking thru some unbuilt kits there's a bunch of them Anyway found this one with horizontal ribbing had to look it up
Looks like Milwaukee was the only ones they were built in house

Hey, I can contribute to this thread. I previously lived within view of the former IC mainline in central Illinois for a number of years. I'll start out as cliché as possible.
FFG&C (Fisher Farmers Grain & Coal) 1828, a rare GP28, pulls a string of hoppers out of the elevator track in the tiny hamlet of Dewey, IL.
Here's a closeup. This locomotive was built in 1964 for the Illinois Central, and is one of only 16 of that type to be operated by a US railroad.

I used to pass by here about once a month on my drive to Chicago for work; I had a back-roads route from Champaign until hooking up with I-55 in Gardner. Over 3.5 years of doing that drive, I only saw this loco in operation once.
