Mail Call! Railway Post Office, commonly abbreviated as RPO has rolled in!

I feel your pain. I pre ordered an engine two years ago and still not sure when it's expected.

Two more days of anticipation for you :D
I ordered my first Accurascale Class 37 in March 2021, which arrived July '23
Class 55 Deltic was ordered in Oct. '23 now due sometime in Q4 this year:)

So I'm not too worried, but this is the first new Hornby I've bought in 5 years, (£190 or $241 for DCC ready) hopefully the quality has improved since my last one, or I'm going HO for good.

Just purchased this LNER 2-8-2 Prince of Wales P2. Should be here Saturday.
Coincidentally today I cycled near to the childhood home of Sir Nigel Gresley where this plaque is on the wall.
This is in Netherseal and his last resting place is in the extension graveyard further up the road.
This is one of my regular bike routes.

That is really cool looking!

How does it run?
The wheel gauge is way out, so it shorts and stops at every turnout, BUT that may be intentional as it is 2-8-2, (2-8-0 really as the rear truck floats above the rail) and the front truck derails on turnouts and curves, it's not sprung-loaded so I'll see what some added weight on the truck does, apart from that it's great, it looks amazing and runs really well.

What a great addition to your collection :D

Good evening. A great day of golf and a better day on the front porch

Only 2 of the 5 diesels purchased Tuesday night showed up today the 2 new from Lombard Hobby did show up. I have received no shipping info yet from the Facebook seller for the other 3 diesels! I use PayPal backed by my credit card so I’m not worried, yet!

A Bowser Sd40-2f painted for the Maine Central and Quebec. The name on the side will be converted to my freelance WRV&T RR. The colors are correct! The sound is provided by ESU.

Another Athearn Genesis Gp40-2L (TPW RailAmerica) joins the roster but for my new freelance Wisconsin Interstate. The sound is provided by Soundtraxx and joins the balance of the fleet also using Soundtraxx. This diesel and 4 others will be stripped and repainted hopefully before Thanksgiving

The ESU sound on the Sd40-2f sounds great and will be even better when I add a Scale Sound System speaker. While not a fanboy of ESU decoders I will be keeping it. It is my only ESU diesel but I do have a couple new V4 sound decoders in the inventory. The ditch lights are iffy! The left ditchlight doesn’t always come on but if I tap it, it does. I will contact Bowser tomorrow to either return it for replacement or whatever they tell me. Brand new out of the box is not a Lombard problem depending on what Bowser says

the Genesis Gp40-2L has ditchlights front and back and is the reason I purchased the TPW unit. It runs very well out of the box and next week I will be stripping off the TPW scheme next week or whenever the missing 3 units come in

Are you certain it is gauged for HO rather than OO? I understand there is a tiny difference.
