Has anyone read anyplace about scratchbuilding a lot of containers?
I wonder if they could be done w/plastic sheets? The only problem I can see are the back doors & the ribbed sides, if needed. Any suggestions? They are just too expensive to buy over a hundred at a time. I have about 35 well cars w/out containers & 35 with. I still need quite a few for my container yard. I have a lot of tractor-trailers to sit in the yard, but need containers.

Larry have you looked at making the paper ones? You can buy cardstock for your printer for about $10 per 100 sheet, or so, then print off paper ones. I'm sure someone will link them, as I don't have the link myself.

I've printed up about 15 of the containers. I put one together & the rest I'm going to add a block of wood to fit inside for bulk. It will have to be a close fit to make it look right. I think over time the card stock will get flimsy(dampness, heat, cold, etc) if it doesn't have a base underneath for support.
I may be wrong about that, but, I think I would be better safe than sorry.
