Cab Video of Brightline Crash

If this carries on, they might well have to fit double barriers rather than single so they can't drive round, I can't understand why anyone would take on a speeding train, 100+ tons doing 60+mph, vs what? 1 1/2ton at 10mph, yeah, your really gonna win that one mate.

In the UK, the train line is, and always has been, private property, fenced and all crossings are gated and have CCTV. Many years ago, when they introduced these half barriers, someone tried the same trick, and also got hit by a train, luckily they survived, after several weeks in hospital he was released, he was then promptly arrested, the charges being, Reckless driving, Causing personal injury, Criminal damage (to the train and railroad property), Causing an accident and Trespass (the barriers were down, so basically it means No Admittance), a civil case was also started by those passenger who were injured, for loss of earnings and compensation for those injuries received, I think he's still paying.

You try dodging through the barriers, often you get a visit from the Police, none of the rail company's entertain this kind of behaviour, and criminal charges can and if your a repeat offender will be brought against you for doing so, rarely get jail, but a very hefty fine and in some cases losing your driving licence for 3, 6 or 12 months is normal for repeat offenders.
