Looking for a replacement for my wife's 1/29 scale Aristocraft train power supply. The one that came with the set has given up the ghost. I never put the one she had on a scope to see what the output waveform looked like but I recall hearing something of a whine when the trains ran. I think it was something to do with the 'constant lighting' on the engine & rolling stock. I tried an old MRC Tech 4 and it seemed to run okay but with not enough power it seemed.
What's on the market that will run these engines with some reserve power? Single headed trains of 6 cars or so.
