I had an opportunity to buy a second 4-12-2 J(9000) today. Actually it's my third as the first one is the MTH model. Put it into service right away on the D&J Railroad.

I've got to agree that the smoke is the best I've ever seen. Seems like an improvement over your first BLI! Do you have any hints?

Very nice! I did nit pick, though, and counted the main crank revs and chuff to see if they are synched and found that they are not in your mid-range speed (on your second acceleration input). The chuffs are fast by just under 1/6 rev of the main crank. Is there a CV provision to change the timing?

The smoke level seems to vary on its own. Usually, first out of the box, the smoke is really good but when that is used up it doesn't seem to be as heavy. I use the BLI smoke juice as apply it as recommended but it just doesn't have the same density as the factory applied. It may have something to do with sitting in the heater assembly for so long.

Three brutes.
