I don't know if the truck driver was really at fault. I think the train had plenty of room to swerve around the truck. lol

Probably something completely stupid and irrational like, making it mandatory to give way to trains and fast moving, very large things on tracks...

The cab of the truck is fully intact, almost completely undamaged, and only a few yards from the crossing so I would imagine he/she probably walked away fine. If they were also dumb enough to not be wearing a seat belt they might have suffered a few contusions and some bruising, but honestly those would be well deserved in my opinion.

about 14 yrs. ago while driving tow truck I got a call to pick up a stolen truck, routine call NO! When I got there the CHP told me the story which goes like this... Dumbass steals truck while trying to get away drives onto tracks and gets stuck like any good thief try's to get truck unstuck and along comes a UP freight to help! well the driver did survive, as for the truck what I found was the front bumper at the back wall of the cab and the front seat, steering wheel and engine/trans in the bed! Wow the carnage was awesome!
The moral to this story is 1) don't steal 2) if you steal know the area and 3) if you drive a tow truck ask for the night shift that's where the fun begins!
With that said, Kids stay in school get a degree and don't become a tow truck driver! It's no fun dodging fast moving Chryslers on the freeway!!
