I have been refurbishing some ancient but still salvagable freight cars. Several have great, unique decals. However I need to airbrush paint the cars. How can I preserve the old decal signage. If I mask it, it will look as if the signs have different paint behind them.:confused:

Cyanoacrilate Glues
I work on a large plate of glass on top of the workbench
Put several drops of CA directly on the glass; puddle stays wet for a long time.
Use a straight pin (head clipped off) secured in an old Xacto handle as the applicator
When dry, scrape off residual with a straight edge...

1. Rare benefit of aging: lots of medication bottles used for mixing paints before airbrushing
2. Oil Barrels: mechanical pencil eraser refills, painted approx HO size. Cheap.
