I called my local shop where I bought it and they agreed to take it back and swap for a non dcc version... The replacement engine runs at the 20% throttle setting and paces right with the b unit pretty darn good
Finally called Kato and the guy told me that this engine wont run at lower throttle on my simple DC setup because of the DCC board installed on the chassis is restricting the voltage compared to a non DCC unit. So now Im at a cross roads on either keeping it or selling it. What to do , what to do.
Im as serious as a heart attack when I say this, so to all you guys with heaps of N scale locos sitting in jewel cases in your basement pm me if your willing to offload any of the diesels in GP7,SD7,SD9, SD45,SD60, SD70/80/90 configurations..
See that's the other end of the hobby spectrum that I'm curious to hear about too...Its interesting to see how people think and rationalize their approach to 1 or 2 engines vs 30+..
