If at all possible I would use a short length of 4" riser before and after the bridge. That way you're train isn't coming off an incline right onto the bridge. Lessens the chance for derailments. That's what I did.

That is a Monogram 1/35 scale M48A2 Patton tank, done in IDF (Israeli Defense Force) colors. The Israeli's renamed them 'Magach' which means battering ram. I have a Tamiya M60 which I plan to do the same thing to.... one 'a these days. The backdrop is a picture of the Negev desert.
