Keeping 'em cold

Men loading blocks of ice into the bunkers of both ends of refrigerator cars that will transport fresh California citrus to eastern markets by rail. It was dangerous and heavy work. Later on, mechanically refrigerated cars would be developed that would eliminate the need for loading ice.
