First run!

This is the first run of this NYO&W passenger train using new trackage rights on the neighboring SLO&W tracks. The engineer is coming into the yard a little hot today and will be surely have a "friendly chat" with the yardmaster when he stops to take on water ahead.
Nice photo of a very nice looking model.

How did you weather the roundhouse? I really like the look and color you've acheived. Often modelers make the mortar colors way too exaggerated, they don't look right. You've gotten a good color and nice subtle weathering.

Thanks Bob! Sorry to be slow (no pun intended) to reply. The roundhouse is a
Walthers kit and was weathered with a combination of techniques. I used
some washes of highly diluted paints (some whites to help the mortar
stand out a bit) and then several of the Bragdon powdered chaulks.
Mostly soot and grime. It was a lot of trial and error, with the sections
that didn't turn out so good hidden in the back of the building.
