Well another year and another Amherst Train Show at the Big E in West Springfield MA. I only went on Saturday. I will report this, it was a full, full, full day! Lots of new vendors were at hand and some new faces. Lombard hobbies was there for their first time! I got to meet Darryl Kruse a YouTuber of the
He was at the Lombard Hobbies booth, great guy and enjoyed talking with him. https://lombardhobby.com/
Saw the Scale Trains annoucement of the GP40s very cool. I met with Shane the owner of ST and chatted with him. Per my query on the finger flat cars they will be doing a new run in 2025 for HO scale so I will be looking forward to that!
I was not impressed with Athearn's booth this time. I went to Bachmann as I wanted to see there new line of caboose in transfer style to see how it compared to Bluford Shops. It is not to the level of Bluford Shops but still a good product.
Atlas had a lot nice new stuff as well. They are really doing great with their signal systems and I tell ya they are fantastic! I will be investing into their signals and lights in the very near future.
A lot of weathered stuff were being sold some what on the high end of pricing. To each his own on that matter. I found in general the pricing was actually pretty decent this year. Better than last year but you still had to use caution and shop around. Some tables were exceptional on prices and others not so much.
Layouts there were awesome I will post pictures following this post. Other vendors were plenty. Lots of 3D printer guys selling their products there as well. Some of their work was great others were sub par.
I bought 6 covered hoppers, 2 tank cars, a ho scale bus, a t-shirt, 2 box cars and 2 sets of tractor trailers. Got a few stickers, couple track gauges from Lombard Hobbies and a 5 dollar off coupon from ST.
