Thats a $10 locomotive purchased on ebay. It is a vintage Rivarossi, not sure what year they came out with those. I had 18 cars behind it once, it was spinning up a little when going uphill and around the curve.

That's a great find! I have one of those that I'm in the process of repainting. The funny thing about it is, I think I paid about the same price for mine at a train show in Colorado when I lived there.

I remember Rivarossi in the hobby shops during the 1950's. I think even then, the driver wheels were way oversized

Even at that age, it is a super dependable machine. All it needs is clean wheels.
