If you take the fastener to a big box home store, learn how to use the fastener gauge tool yourself. Good luck finding someone who knows how to size fasteners.

I am wondering if you have had any luck finding these small screws in a big box store. It's been my experience that if it's anything smaller than a 6-32 ,you can't get it and the employee usually gives you a look like you just grew a 3rd eyeball . You're 1000% right on using a screw gauge.
