I have an F7 engine with an NCE decoder, but working with JMRI, it lists over 50 types under NCE. I want to program the
F7 which I think is an Atlas or Walthers, but have no idea which type is the one to chose as the list does not have an
operating one for an F7. Any ideas on how to find the correct NCE one for the F7?

Here's what I'd try, if I wanted to search to find out WHICH NCE decoder you might have.

First, take the shell off, and take a CLEAR and WELL-LIGHTED pic or two of the existing decoder. Make sure it's relatively close-up so you can compare it to pics of other decoders.

Then, try this page at NCE:
See if what you have matches up with any of the decoders displayed on the page above.

If you can "match one up from there", look in Decoder Pro for it's listing.

Not there?
I'm thinking that you might contact NCE tech support via email (not sure if they have that), and attach a copy of the pic you took. They'll probably be able to identify it.

Or... if they DON'T have email tech support, you could try calling them on the phone and explain. Perhaps they could provide you with an email address to which to send the pic.
