N Gauge couplers

New to N gauge, acquired a couple of BLI engines, and some Atlas cars.
The cars all have "Rapido" couplers which don' seem to get along with the more sophisticated couplers on the engines.
Any suggestions?

Micro-trains are pretty much the go to coupler in N scale.
