After an absence of way too long, and entering retirement, I have returned to the hobby. With retirement income, buying new is out of the question, so used will do! Besides finishing the layout, my plan is to repair and upgrade some of the older cars in my fleet, such as the Tyco and Varney cars from the 1960s and early 1970s. This means metal wheelsets and KD couplers, body mounting as needed, and added weight, also as needed. My interest is the Bankrupt Lines, which is the "holding company" for all the bankrupt railroads of the 1970s, with a dash of Milwaukee Road thrown in. The modeling period stops at March 31, 1976, since Conrail starts the next day. More later as I get caught up.
