On Sep. 12 I turned 80. I guess that make me an official Old Fart. We had a celebration, at my sons Cabin in Pinetop. It was the first time I took the EV out on the road. The route there was a mountain road full of twist and turns and many up and down grades. When we arrived we were down to 95 miles. We spent the day looking for a charging station. We found a fast charge and charged to 80%. I forgot to change charging to 100%. Went to dinner at a place that had a slow charger. so we tried that. We finished Dinner and only got to 90%. I thought that should be enough to get us home.
A good time was had by all. My wife's birthday is Sept 14 she will turn 80 then. So it was combo celebration.
We left Sunday morning, and proceeded to turn the wrong way on the main route. After driving 2 hours we stopped and asked for directions. Their best advice was to return to Show Low, where we started from. Luckily, we got back to our favorite charging station, A half hour later we were back on the road again. It was a long drive home but we arrived. We learned that if we leave the area. always find the fast charge stations first.
