Where can I find forums focused on hand laying track?

Go to YouTube and search "How to hand lay HO scale track". You'll find hours of videos.

Have several track gauges on hand like 4 or 5 or more. I have more than a dozen that I've accumulated over the years.

Besides YouTube content there are excellent groups on Facebook. I belong to Track Modeling & Detailing

Laying your own track does open up new avenues in track planning since you can lay your own turnouts to whatever size you need.

Or, you can get creative. On a display track I laid three gauges; standard, three feet and 30", all in code 70 rail.

Best bet is to join the NMRA
