I gave this GVSR car to my grand nephew for his mini layout (basically all the track I had left over from my last layout).
I asked him,“Do you want it clean or dirty.”
The reply was, “Dirty.”
So here it is before and after…
My hairspray weathering attempt on the bulkheads was largely a bust and I had never weathered a flat before.. I didn’t want to deep dive and start scribing gouges and scratches into the plastic floor..
But I can live with the result…
Very nice. The varying shades on the deck are excellent
Over the years of weathering bulkheads I have added scratches and gouges to the deck. I stopped doing it as really no one notices it. It’s much more believable when you vary the shades on the deck and you’ve achieved that to my eye

2026 plan…. spring more of these Athearn cars on him and get him engaged in the painting process
