The flat, barren plain of blue foam where cork and track were being laid has disappeared into a chaotic bedlam of structures, rolling stock, building materials, vehicles and plain junk. We are trying to plan what needs to be finished for our holiday display this year.
One item is the Instatrax moving vehicles section.
The basic mechanism is in place now to take traffic around a city block , into and out of view of observers. We hope to have this operating for this year's show.
Yes, we will be able to run trains around the whole layout. The young lady, who built her first model house a couple weeks ago ,is now assisting to wire up an accessary bus. I can still get up under the layout like she is, but it would require a crane to drag me out again.
Chuck Lampman was a long time Wrecking Crew member who passed away last year. He was a talented scratch builder who has several structure on ur Locust Grove & western HO layout and the Gardner Tie &Timber ON30 layout. We wanted a small industry to bear his name.
This began as an AHM Grusom Casket Company kit, but as I began assembling it. I found several walls and other parts missing. This is the kit bashed structure I completed. Chuck would have approved, I think.
