I will be putting some decals on a steam loco which I'm in the process of painting(flat paint). After placing the decals, my plan was to apply a flat clear. It's always recommended to apply decals to a glossy surface, so my initial thought was to apply a gloss coat to just the areas the decals...
I want to apply #5549 to my steam cab. Are the numbers on this sheet individual or joined continuously? Will there be decal film to the right of the #9 which also needs cutting? If I cut between the #2 and #5, will the 5549 come off as a single number panel?
Is it necessary to apply Microsol to a decal being applied to a perfectly prepared flat surface, or is it only needed when a surface has contours or bumps to conform to? I am applying Microset to adhere the decal initially, but should I follow it up with Microsol? Has anybody skipped directly...

I have been refurbishing some ancient but still salvagable freight cars. Several have great, unique decals. However I need to airbrush paint the cars. How can I preserve the old decal signage. If I mask it, it will look as if the signs have different paint behind them.
Hi folks, I'm Thaddeus from Northern California. Obviously, I'm new here, but not new to Model Railroading. I had some decals made years ago by a now defunct outfit. Now I need more. I have the proofs. I ran across a listing here somewhere of decal manufacturers, but now I can't find it! I...
