It has been said that a little acrylic "lamp black" from an artist tube can be applied to give that greasy build up look. I haven't had the chance to try it yet but it seems reasonable. Guess I'd start out using a needle to apply a little at a time.

Awesome! Now, how do I print and turn these into dry transfers? I know how to print the 'mirror image'. I have an ink jet printer, what do I print on to make a transfer?

I've been in model railroading since 1955. I started with "027 Lionel" and built a 20' x16' layout in the basement when I was 14. My dad helped me build the table and get it level, I did everything else.
