The lookout tower that was about 10 miles from where I grew up had a tower and a small cabin. The tower is roughly 120 feet higher than the tallest hilltop. If you knew where to look through a pair of good binoculars you could just make out the next tower. Now, just look at night for the...

What’s the decision on your open area? Forest with a forest fire lookout tower would fill that nicely.

Kinda forgot that from knocking the old noggin off the ground a few times…rocks, trees…sure I’m forgetting a few other things🤔🤔

Was watching YouTube on what we used growing up compared to kids today. Who else here remembers these?
Riding in the back back of a station wagon
The phone mounted to the wall

If you’re lucky, they’ll use DHL as an undercover raid truck.🤣🤣🤣🤣 Maybe then the package will arrive on time 😂😂😂😂😂

Trees…lots and lots o trees! And as long as the signals work…close enough! Or else you might have the FRA, OSHA, DEC and whatever other alphabet watchdog trying to breakdown your door! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ve learned more from this forum than I’ve found on YouTube and one other forum. The internet…unless you’re drop dead specific…no luck. I’m definitely going to be getting others to join our group.

The red aspect on your signal, does that mean the switch is lined for the inner loops?

Just for future reference, but I think different colored wires could help the wiring mess. Red and black for track power. Yellow for street lights. Green for signals. Another color for motorized track switches. Then use some screw in hooks to help keep the wires up near the bottom of the layout...

Once in a while I actually have a good idea. Now if I can convince my wife and my boss to actually listen to me…that would be great for me 😁😁

Hopefully you’ll hinge the switchboard so you can open it for easier access. If it were me, hinge on bottom so you can use your legs as an improvised support.😀
