    Tyco Rolling Stock.

    Hey Santa Fe 4100, You did not mention if you have a layout! I have converted many cars to steel wheels and Kadee couplers, but, I also run the horn hook , truck mounted couplers. They do fine being pulled round and round.

    If you are going with DCC, a simple ammeter will not work in the track feed wires. Go with this.. .

    I've converted many BB locos to DCC. Never bothered to check current draw or read the decoder spec's. They are all working still.

    My steam locos are from the '60's. All DCC now... Mantua and Varney, and still running.

    I've never found a good can motor, the boiler and firebox is too narrow.
