    Lionel TMCC/Conventional Engine Operation Troubles

Not as dumb as it sounds actually...I know I set it to CONV, but I'll double check that it's set to run, I don't think it is. Thanks! Charlie

    Lionel TMCC/Conventional Engine Operation Troubles

Today I finished wiring my TMCC system into my one loop of track on my 8 by 8 table. Everything seems to be in working order. I have two conventional engines, one of which is at the shop, the other which hasn't ran in about 2 years. With the Power Master, I followed the instructions to make my...

What kind of airbrush should I buy?

I love and trust Harbor freight...it is a man's toy store there! I'll have to go to counseling prior to going though so I won't buy the whole store-just the airbrush Charlie!

    Liquid Mask

I want to airbrush my O scale GP9 for a custom paint job. I would like to use liquid mask for the windows, so I don't get paint on them. What kind of liquid mask do you guys use? How does it come off once it is applied? I have only heard of this product in books, and I've never seen it in...

What kind of airbrush should I buy?

I want to begin painting and airbrushing some of my own stuff, and I want a inexpensive airbrush. I paint O scale. What do you recommend? I'm looking for something cheap, of good quality. Also, what kind of paint do you recommend?

Ross Custom Switches with Atlas O track

I have Atlas, so I'll stick to it. Also, I have Rich's first DVD, and he does not use real trax. Real trax is crap. Scale trax is nice stuff though, that is what he has. But from what I've seen and hear, Atlas is the most realistic and durable.

Ross Custom Switches with Atlas O track

Anyone ever used their products? Anyone use them with Atlas O? Are they better for cost? Quality? Easier to use and install?

    Lionel Conventional diesels-TMCC upgradeable?

How easy would it be for me to take a newer lionel conventional engine and make it so it is controllable with TMCC? Also, is there a way to add railsounds too?

Is Atlas O Nickel silver track considered "hi-rail"?

I need to know in order to properly install my lionel TMCC equipment.

    O scale railfan figures

Does anyone know if any 1:48 scale railfan "figures" of people are offered anywhere? I would like to get some people with cameras and lawn chairs sitting next to me tracks, but i haven't found any. Charlie

O scale air hose detail parts

Thanks! Which do you think are best?

O scale air hose detail parts

I noticed how on Atlas O's freight cars, air hoses are always present. Does anyone know if there are any of these for sale separately, or as a detail part, so I could add them to my existing collection of MTH premier cars? Charlie

    Ignorant Coupler Question Part II

Would they have these at everyday railroad hobby shops?

    Ignorant Coupler Question Part II

What do you mean by "DCC uncoupling device". Keeping mind I'll probably throw on a Kadee.

    Ignorant Coupler Question Part II

Thanks for all who helped me out with my first question. I now have another. Most of the DCC-equipped engines Atlas offer say they have AccuMate couplers or can fit "proto couplers". Can accumate couplers uncouple and couple from a DCC remote, or do I have to install "proto couplers" to do so...

Another dumb question (about MTH locos and TMCC)

I don't mean to be a PIA here, but I was told that MTH DCS is very expensive. Anyway, for the older DCS stuff, there is a way to run them perfectly compatible with the TMCC, however you should hang yourself before you do so. It is very complicated, and you need to be an electronics genius to do...

    Lionel O gauge

FasTrack looks like crap on the actual layout, and so does tubular track, but fastrack would be an awesome choice (end the easiest) for a ceiling run. I would go wide radius for a ceiling layout too, as otherwise on the tight curves the train may very well hit the floor.

    Ignorant question about couplers

I will be using a modular layout, so if I do the construction solid and right (no offense intended) I guess the Kadee couplers will have to work. So with this in mind, railbuilderDHD, would you please send me a link to the kit? Is the kit nessessary for the conversion or could it be done with...

    Ignorant question about couplers

Okay next step: how do I apply my coupler of choice? If need be, I can go down there and get more details and some pictures of the boxcar in question if need be.

    Ignorant question about couplers

Most are Walthers, Atlas, and bachmann. No junk (tyco). A lot of it is underscaled mock-up stuff. But he has a few nice UP HI-cube boxcars. He's selling the cars at about $3 each, with most of the locomotives being somewhere between $5 and $10, although these are just beat up Walthers straight...
