Josh,
The pilots are not a problem, Brian Banna was onto me about doing them a while ago and yes they will be available.
The steps are quite close to DP 1079 - the EMD SD Generic Steps. You'll be safe with them.
I measured up an old SP GP35 this weekend and the older GP steps were...

GP35 Steps
Josh,
I managed to measure and photograph 9803 today. It was built as an SP GP35 in 1964 I think.
Would these steps do? I also found an measured up a Guilford GP40 that was idling in Connecticut last weekend for the pilots and steps. The GP35 steps are noticeably different...

Stolen Thunder

SD38-2, SD40-2, SD45-2, SD50S all used the same basic frame. So did the GP38-2, GP39-2, GP40-2, GP50 which is why I'm doing both the GP and SD frames at the same time. What is not realized in his...

Guys,
Thanks. Check things out and see the products for your self. The new tread-plates are excellent as they accurately represent the tread applied to locomotives and not the industrial versions commonly used for the design of after market kits. New pilots and steps for American...
