hello folks, what a month!!!! go on vacation for a week to a warmer climate, come home to ice storms and no electric for four days! good thing the basement is on the generator circuit, ( i told the wife that it had to be for the smoke detector system in the house!) haaahhhhaaaaahhaaa! as well...

three things to top off the smell of fresh wood in the wood shop: the WOOD stove cookin away, with an ole perculator of coffee on it, and it justa snowing away outside!!!!!!!!!!

i got an estimate for a sump system and drain and perimiter wall drains ect and they wanted almost 10,000 dollars! as a former general contractor myself, i almost fell over! that just seemed crazy to break the floor and put a drain in and a sump pump....and cement it back in. i really wanted...

when we bought our house we got water evertime it rained or an amimal peed in the yard! i corrected the problem with corectly installled gutters and down spouts and a little regradeing of the yard. havent had a drop since and am now proceeding with finishing the basement with no further actions...

leghome, you can paint the subflooring with kilz or BIN / Zinnser to seal in the smell

i have decide on atals code 55 myself. although i have ALOT of older equiptment that will need retrfiting (i want magnetic knuckle couplers anyway) .
