    Seeking Guidance on Pricing an Inherited Model Train Set

    Will you want whoever buys it to completely remove all the 'stuff'? There is value there but also a lot of work hauling away what can't really be saved. I would guess $500-$1000.

    I think those motors are plentiful. Look on eBay or Amazon. The trouble with switching to a different motor is all the alignment issues with the frame/shaft/belt etc.., as you know.

    Maybe stick in a jumper plug and see what the issue is while on DC power.

    I have worked on a few of those cog belt drives. One had 2 drivers out of quarter. Does yours seem to lope?
