    The walls are made from high density urethane foam. The only place I know to find is a sign supply place.

    Thanks Dave. I used the bead blaster where I work. The glass beads are made by Ballotini. I think they're probably too big for an air eraser. I didn't blast the face of the blocks, just the space between them. An air eraser would cut the foam the same way, it would just take a little longer. I...

    I got the windows in. I used Scotch Tape for the "glass". After I got the tape in I sprayed it with clear gloss. Worked out nice. I'm not sure about adding more colors or weathering yet. Next I have to cobble together an ATM machine and a drive-thru.

    I primed over the over-spray from painting the roof. It took 3 light coats of Folk Art antique white to cover the primer. I use Adobe Illustrator to draw out the front door and printed it out on an index card. It will be set back in the doorway. I think it might look ok. If it doesn't...

    Done with chalk, anyone know how to do rust?

    Soak the steel wool in laquer thinner for a while and then you can force steel wool to rust with some white vinegar.

    Getting a correct concrete color

    I've been looking for a good formula for concrete too. I've been using Folk Art Barnwood and thin washes of other colors. It looks ok, but I'm not 100% happy with the look.

    I like using real rust. I make mine by letting a piece of super fine steal wool rust and then grinding it up as fine as I can. A little flat clear spray paint holds it in place. Artist oil colors work good too. They allow a lot of working time and blending.

    Nice looking diorama. The building turned out great. Since it's already glued to the base you could make the window glass using Canopy Glue.

    Dull Aluminum Paint Ideas Wanted

    Krylon makes a paint called "Dull Aluminum". Testors Metalizers would be another option.

    I made the stucco by mixing plaster with Folk Art paint and dabbing it on the building with a piece of foam rubber. The plaster makes the paint thick, the foam rubber is what gives it the stipple finish.

    To make the letters on the front of the building I printed them out on paper. Then glued the paper to sheet styrene. I cut the letters out with an Xacto knife. After they're all cut out I removed the paper. It's a tedious job, but I think it looks good.
