Bought some more foam core and worked on the West end of town.

Not working very quickly on the layout, but it's been rainy for a few days so I did some work yesterday and will continue today.
Glued down some 1/4" foam core to raise the landscape a bit. Need to go buy more today then I'll glue down some more. After that will be sculptamold, roads, dirt and...

Installed a basic blue sky backdrop yesterday. At least it removes the visual clutter. Next is to start on some scenery.

Moved the layout down to the basement last night and put it on some legs.
Also added the extension to give it a fiddle yard.
Eventually all the stuff on the shelves in the background will be dealt with and go away. Then the shelves will come out and the layout will go along the wall.
Just...

LOL, I'm afraid you're on your own there.

The turnouts are all hand built using the Fast Tracks system. They all turned out pretty well. I need to run a few more locomotives and cars through them to make sure everything is all good.
The frogs are fully insulated and powered using Tam Valley Frog Juicers. This is the first time I've...

Finally got a 2' x 8' section built and some track laid out. It's a start and something to do some switching and scenicking on until I get the basement cleared out some more.
Got all the feeders soldered on and wired it all up.

But then we decided that the house was just not quite big enough and that it was a little far out from the big...

And yes, the horn is coming out. :)

You may not thank me later after you spend all your money on the good deals there. :P
-
Also if you are on Facebook there are a few HO Buy/Sell groups. The prices are not always as good but they are worth a look.
-
You can also join the HO Swap email list to look for bargains. I have purchased a lot of stuff there at good prices.
Most listings are priced well. You might have to do a little research to see if the price is reasonable.

When I started airbrushing again (after many years of not doing MRR stuff) I found I didn't like my really old Badger. So I read a bunch of reviews and picked up an Iwata-Medea Revolution CR Dual Action brush. I'm pretty happy with it.
I also built a paint booth - but I made mine out of a heavy...

I'm moving house and will be building a new layout. I have the space and a general plan. Obviously I will need some turnouts.
On my last layout I hand built the turnouts. I did enjoy doing so, but I wasn't careful enough with my gauging and the turnouts did not work very well. I have a good...
