Running Bear's September 2026 Coffee Shop

I grew up in the town next to the importer of that beer. LOL Three more hours to home. Done over 7500 miles in the last three and a half weeks. Be nice to sleep in my own bed tomorrow night.

Running Bear's August 2026 Coffee Shop

Finally able to post again after 4 days/three nights on the Rubicon Trail. I have too much video and cannot download it all to my laptop to edit down to a reasonable length. A few pictures from the trail.

Most of the way across the US. Since the trailer tire issue there has been no drama, unless you consider 5% downhill grades with 50mph turns drama that is. Made to Winnemucca, NV tonight. The friend that was going to join us in CA we caught up to in Elko, NV. Short trip to Carson City...

Running Bear's August 2026 Coffee Shop

I saw some photos on the RPF forum posted by a member that lives in Chiba. His place is on high ground and not directly affected, but there was at least a meter of water in the streets within a 10 to 15 mile radius. Stay safe.

Picture from the Jeep Logo on Sunday. My rig is the middle one. This happened today somewhere in Iowa between Walcott and Iowa City. Based on the cut up the side I think I ran over something. It was sudden.

My fellow travelers got the bright idea to go to a charity event at the Stellantis Jeep Manufacturing Plant in northern Toledo to have our Jeeps photographed at the Jeep logo on site. Between getting there from I80, taking the Jeeps off the trailers, photos, and getting the Jeeps strapped back...

Best of the Cliff Clavin quotes: How beer makes you smarter Well, you see, Norm, it’s like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it’s the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for...

    History of All Kinds

I went there back in 2013, my youngest brother married a Peruvian, the wedding was in Lima and the next day we all flew to Cusco. We went to Machu Picchu by rail and bus from there. My wife was unable to attend because of the gov contract she was working on at the time. I'm the fat one...

More yellowish sky today, but unlike previous years there is no smell of smoke yet.

No pictures, but the sky was a weird shade of yellow green today in Southern NH due to the fires in Ontario. Heard from a friend up in Maine that it was worse up there.

Small offroad shop I've used for years. Owner is a person I've wheeled with several times in the past 20 or so years. I use him for the stuff I don't want to do without a hoist/lift like removing the differential to change the inner seals. He admitted that he screwed up and didn't notice that...
