    post your model RR tips........

While your in the kitchen - Caraway seeds look like excellent fish recently caught and laying on bank/boat next to fisherman. I also grind up Eucalyptus leaves and sprinkled them in with landscape material. An old timer (and I'm and old timer) told me years ago that spiders don't like...

    Kadee Truss Log Car

Very nice. I'm a big fan of weathered and (ab)used equipment.. Cars on my private industry ( logging and mining) have dual numbers. Example; one car side is 101, other side is 102 or 101, other side is 201 and so on. Minimizes a string of number sequence (1,2,3,...) and/or shows newer cars in...

What are you buying this Month?

Eating an elephant one bite at a time - Recently acquired Master Creations Coon gap Sawmill Silver edition. I seek out a challenging kit or project to build over the long winter months. This kit includes figures, detailed interior, lights, smoke generator, fast clock, sound system. Apparently...

    Organizing desk/workbench

I use Craftmates Lockables to store many of my smaller detail parts. They come in various sizes. The smallest is about the size of a weekly(daily) pill holder. These lockables are very robust. You need to depress a lockbar to unlock the individual compartment you want to access...

    Can you re-use adhesive caulk?

I cap my partial caulk tubes with an electrical wire nut. It's not a one size fits all deal. You'll need a larger wire nut if you cut a larger opening in the tube. Typically I use the red wing nut style.

    40' x 8' x 8' shipping container layout

I also was about to suggest an small anteroom at your entrance. Not knowing the prevailing winds in your area I'd be concerned about a mini hurricane going through your layout. Currently it would just get in the way.

    Peeling paint question

Last July ('23) I presented a technique using rattle cans and hair spray on a plastic structure. Should work well with Evergreen; https://modelrailroadforums.com/forum/index.php?threads/old-white-wash-brick-building-effect.36071/

Oops! We ran into some problems. Still.....

I've been getting this message for the last week or so when I try to get in. The only way I can connect to this forum is to go to the alert bell and select an alert that will then get me into the site. I thought that the sign in problem was fixed but in my case not so. BTW - I aint computer...

How to hide or landscape turntable?

How about a short storage and "interchange track." The round house needs to be provisioned by highway traffic. A gantry crane can transfer between highway and rail. Store some little used MOW equipment.

Rails sprayed with WD40 - any risk of fire?

Try a patch blue jean material (Denim). Its slightly more abrasive than t-shirt.

    Layout height?

per the video from GeoGeorge be sure to cantilever the legs out and back a few inches from the outside edge of your bench work. You won't believe how many times you knock knees gliding around on your chair with straight legs. I think sitting down and operating is underrated. Another...
