I agree, basically the truck is not following the track when the switch is switched.
I am expecting a LOT of Electric Lionel switches that I will replace these manual switches with. I am hoping that maybe it will correct the issue. All my track is used and old. I still know something else is...

I looked at the front trucks last night and saw that my new trucks were set skinny so I spread them to be the size of the original.
Even after adjusting them, the loco's still jump. I have rolled them across the switches and see where they jump off but I just don't know why. Almost thinking I...

I've just read that my scale might be off on the front trucks. Two out of the three are new front trucks for the Marx loco's. They de-rail right and left. If the switch is switched to turn they de-rail. Still doesn't explain the Lionel jumping. It's all original.
I have observed the loco's...

I have a Lionel and two Marx 1666, 666.
I also have a Lionel 1984 8302.
The newer Lionel runs smooth and hardly ever jumps the rail.
My old Cast Loco's all jump the front trucks, mainly on the switches if they are not straight. If they are switched then the front trucks jump the track. Not...

I have many manual switches that I am adding to my layout. I eventually would want them to be automated with switches. I was thinking about maybe servo's or a small electric push solenoid to convert them instead of replacing them after installing all them.
Has anyone done something like this...

I think I have figured out why climbing the Helix is easier.
I think it's because I used old steel rails that seem to have better tractions because there is another section of my track where my Loco can't push up it without spinning because it is that Tin/Nickel track. Very slippery.
It was...

I've never seen a O Scale with the couplers mounted to the car itself.
That's food for thought. I will look at it and see

Agreed, I have had my fair amount of those issues as well. My trains are OLD
-
J
Exactly. The rear of the train pulls on the rest of the line and de-rails it. Ok so it's a normal thing.... I will add some to my box cars too

I have Lionel and Marx cars that I use. I found that everytime I would add more than a couple of cars that the car behind the Tender would jump the tracks in the turns on O27 or prewar O.
So yesterday I took apart the Tender and added weight inside of it. Once I did this my cars stopped jumping...

Yes, you are correct. It is at the weak point I am thinking about a resolution right now.
Matter of fact I am waiting to connect it to the rest of the set because I am still working out the kinks. There are a few little places where the train isn't exactly smooth, so I am adjusting it as I run...

That was the inspiration for it actually.... My daughter likes the PE train so I originally built it for the affect around the tree. I plan to buy the PE set to ride the track
