    My thoughts on ballast! GROAN. The one thing about model railroading I actually hate, followed closely by adding grab irons to HO models.. As the others have said, keep the glue and the ballast itself far away from turnout points and throw bars. I have dental picks to help remove stray...

    FYI Technically it is G-gauge. As far as I know there is no G-scale. As for yesterday's plan, I was going to say, shouldn't the present drop off be on the outside of the loops and the present pick up be inside with the tree? Or am I misunderstanding the reference. The one you posted Monday...

    This was my experience with a Legacy locomotive (Polar Express Berkshire) and the CW80. It could power the locomotive, or the sound tender but not both. Let alone all the lighted passenger cars. I had to get the GW-180.

    As I understand it, Kato working signals use a independent power supply (12VDC) and are triggered by mechanical contacts a special rail section. It should not have any care what is powering the train.

    Model Masterpiece's Roundhouse - Colorado Midland or Como

    I do not but have seen the prototype of both. Como was for the Denver South Park and Pacific Narrow Gauge, while Colorado Midland was standard gauge. So just based on that if they are both true scale, I would say you need the Colorado Midland one.
