usually if i am taking pics of my models, once i get inside about a foot things start getting blurry... that may just be the camera i am using though... i know there are articles around for taking pics of your layout, etc... i would just have to find the link...

what did you use for this? did you use a wash or markers or what? and what kind of look are you going for? you said moderately beat up but are you working from a prototype picture or just kind of going with the flow here? i think you can make this a believable car as long as you...

something i have tried in the past and had pretty good results with is to use cheap wal-mart craft paint thinned out and sprayed through an airbrush... they have a ton of colors and they are easy to mix and only cost a dollar each...

what kind of a look are you going for, mike?
if you are using it for a wash, there are probably cheaper and easier methods you can use...

all i do right now is weather cars... if i were to be interested in the other aspects of the hobby i'm sure i would have interacted a bit more... this seems like a fine forum to be a member of and it's hard to be active in a forum like this when your sole motivation is hardcore weathering...

I USE AN AIRBRUSH TO SEAL MY CAR WITH A MIX OF DULL-COTE... THAT'S IT...
look i found my caps key... :D anyway, all i use are small brushes... everything on that car was brushed on... i'm absolutely horrible with an airbrush...

yeah, brake rigging may be too low but not by much if at all... go look at some scale drawings and you'll see what i mean... that's how i modeled the brake rigging since these cars have a distinctive setup...
trucks... yeah, i'm gonna take the time to weather the entire car...

yeah, i love these old evans cars... they definitely lend themselves to their fair share of rust... oh, i completely detailed the under fame as well,

fishplate, there were some other little tags as well on the two cars i used for the weathering of this car but i couldn't really make out what they said so i left em off... had to keep the smiley face though!

thanks josh... there is an IATR 13146 in real life btw guys... it's over at rrpicturearchives.net... that and 13151 or 52 were used to do this car...

zoegraf, i brightened your pic up a bit and to me it looks nice... i assume you are going for a slightly used look? as far as i can tell you've got some good grunge built up there but it's not too heavy... the lettering looks a little...
