Can't believe its Wednesday and there hasn't been a photo fun thread started yet. Whats going on here?

Here's my contributions this week.
Cannon tread plate installed on a Athearn SD40T-2 with 123'' nose. Those clamps help hold it down while the glue dries, when removed from the fret, the tread rolls up.

get it done quick, how come? lol

Anyway, the tunnel motor is pretty much done. Gotta put the grab irons i took off and then really just get it painted. I have a spare NCE decoder for it so it will run without sound for now. Eventually it will get tsunami.

As for my NJ Transit project, Cannon cab and plano SD45 brass fan hatch's could be here today, if not monday. THen I can really start going to town figuring out how to get everything put together.

been working on the backround city scene with ant art deco inspired wall and thought I should have an overpass with street car traffic(static of course) Scratchbuilt using wood, polystyrene foam, and styrene

Wow! That's really coming along nicely, looking great!
I need a blue background like what you have. What is it you used?

I really love the supports in the overpass. Heck, I love the whole idea of the overpass. And the street lights. I'd love to see it when it's finished.

The color is a Dutch Boy color called Hometown Blue. I had it mixed at Menards using Pittsburgh Paints ultra interior latex flat mid-tone base because it was on sale!!!

I have to say the overpass Idea was not mine I found that design in a kalmbach book called "Building City Scenery for your model railroad" by John Pryke

I have been trying to finish up several on going projects on the layout. Been filling the gaps on some PC ties, painting rail, adding Railbars, etc. Here is a small section of the yard as it looked right after putting the rail down and soldering to the PC ties (and notice in this spot I have already added the railbars). You can see the gaps cut for electrical isolation in them:

I filled the gaps with Milliput from Micro-Mark:

Then the ties have been painted with the first coat of paint, Roof Brown. They will be painted with a dry brush using some Grimy Black to make them blend in with the hand cut and stained ones surrounding them:

Also got more ballasting done on the Upper staging:
