I'm wondering about the clown pants!

Sshhh.........don't tell anyone!

Been absent for a while, moving into a new house and all... Well last weekend I was placed in touch with the family of a model railroader who had passed away, and his family wanted his railroad to go to a good home. I happened to have an (almost) empty garage that wasn't even in the planning stages.
I now have a 12x15 layout (i had to saw it into 3 sections, only one of which is in the garage yet), and lots of rolling stock, all for free.
Here BB&G's old #8 pulls out of the main at Teller, TX as the daily passenger (RDC's) takes the siding for the station:
The crew waves at the KCF, but doesn't stop... switchman Bubba's got burgers on the grill:
still alot of work to do, moving stuff around in the garage, but hey! I'm YEARS ahead of schedule as far as being able to run trains in my own house!
Akron Canton & Lakeshore Lines No. 400 in Ex. UP Livery. It'll be the only AC&L engine to wear this scheme. I noticed that the 400 is a little off.. I did that last night when I wasn't too awake!
V&AL: How about more on that caboose in your last shot?
Nwdrummer: Nice patch job. I patch every UP unit I get my hands on. The Atlas FP7 I have coming will be no exception. It's UP so it gets patched.

Don't worry too much about it. I can show you prototype photos with crooked numbers. If it bugs you too much, I place masking tape over the decals, burnish it and lift the crooked decal off.

Same here. I've seen some that even had different size numbers and one with an upside down 5.
That makes me feel better then

If I find another UP F7 cheap I'll patch it up and pair it to that one. Btw V&AL, Nice caboose
As requested:
It started as a MP-inspired transfer caboose, but the crews opted to leave the roof in place to protect from the hot Gulf sun and torrential downpours. Then the crew decided to bring a grill to cook lunch on the long trips down the creaky BB&G rails. A generator powers the fridge and AC for the conductor's office, and is muffled by a large Mack truck muffler picked up at a local scrap yard. Contrary to some suspicions, those are sodas in the cooler...
Oh, and that's Fred, Conductor George's favorite hound dog...
Nwdrummer: I'm doing the same with my new Atlas FP7. I but a decoder in it yesterday. Next step is to patch over the UP markings. The other FP7 is an old 70's era Atlas model in Pennsy paint. I'll be redoing it in my black and white L&A scheme.
V&AL: That looks like redneck paradise! I have an old 30 foot B&O bay window caboose laying around. I think I just found a use for it.
... my cows have wandered off on their own. Since they're not glued down yet, my wife likes to place them around the layout to see if I notice. It's actually kind of funny to see what she comes up with.
My wife and I had a similar game on my HO Scale Chigger & Santa Fe RR layout for several years. The game would go on for weeks without a word spoken about it.
I had modeled the vehicles for everyone in the family, including my Baby Blue 1979 F250 4x4 Ford pickup with its home-made headache rack. During that time, I was bagging out for 5 days at a time a lot with a Power Company. I’d leave on Monday and return on Friday, so before leaving, I would park my Ford Truck somewhere on the layout for her to find it.
My two favorite places were the roadside rest area (where a couple of women were changing clothes behind some bushes), or at the 2-story Honky Tonk (saloon on the ground floor and “rooms” on the second floor). She caught on to those spots quickly and I had to get more creative. I stumped her one time by loading it on the lower level of an auto transport truck traveling down Main Street.
I’d come home and have to hunt for my pickup, including in the tunnels between the two levels, before I could run a train. Sometimes, it took quite a bit of looking to find it, like the time that she put it inside one of the shop bays at the truck repair shop.
We had a lot of fun with our “silent” game!

Model Power/IHC chassis with a 60's era Athearn GP7 shell. And it sounds just like it looks. It's a pizza cutting coffee grinder.
Here's one of my AC&L F7-A Units. I'm doing three of these numered 8400, 8500, and 8600 and I'll be decaling the second one today. These will go into hauling ore trains on our layout.
Anybody know what this is?
Looks like string, fishing line, or dental floss. DJ.
I was referring to the gears.
