"Popular Science" magazine Spring 2019 issue has a 10 page article with full page photographs of a 52,000 square foot model railroad. 8 miles of track and a control panel that uses more electricity a month than most homes use in 2 years.

Yes. Spectacular bridges is the central theme. The whole thing is actually numerous individual loops of track on their own DC power supplies. Not really practical to conduct an op session.

Seen it once. Been to its predecessor 2-3 times. As I recall, a portion of it is operated by a club. The balance of it is more or less just a display. Very fantastical, in many ways. I wouldn't want to drive on the roads thru the mountains.
