Wiper/wiper arm painting (ho scale)

Got some wiper arms for various locos. What's the best way to paint up these tiny, fine detail parts. Airbrush prime/paint, Brushed prime/paint, or a black marker???

I have used a black Sharpie fine point pen. Look for prototype pictures though, as some railroads used silver paint. For those, I used silver paint applied with the tip of a pin. All done with Optivisors on!

If painting the wipers off the model you can use about any method you want. I use a piece of sponge quite often to paint pieces off the model. Tear a little piece off, put it in self closing tweezers and paint. When finished, piece of sponge to the trash & done. Painting parts on the model, depending on the situation, you may end up using one of the methods that Willie & Rico mentioned, or something else entirely. A couple of good brushes like a 18/0 & 5/0 are pretty handy also......and the Optivisor.....

Jerry reminded me of something, when painting them on the loco I usually slip a thin piece of styrene between them and the windshield for safe measure.

Luckily these are still attached to the sprue so I have that flexibility.
