ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
I just want to get a feel for who uses the forums product reviews section? I stop in there often (at least once a week) to see if anything new has been posted. I try to post a number of the items I pick up, as in the case of my "new" Bachmann Spectrum F40PH: http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/reviewpost/showproduct.php?product=105
I like reading reviews, lets me get a feel for what other people think of an item.
I stop in to read the reviews now and again. Usually what someone mentions a new review in a thread. I have not posted any reviews in a while. I should really get off my lazy but a do somemore!
I've glanced at the reviews a few times, but they're rarely related to products I'm interested in. I get more value from the "reviews" in specific threads: "ABC Widgets make the best sidewalk material", etc.
I've been reading them and posting now that I know it's there. It's not obvious that anything is in that secton unless you click on it since it doesn't shwo ither the last subject or number of posts. Maybe it would get used more often if that was changed.

Sorry! just read. Most of my stuff is so old no one would remember it. Don't plan on buying much until I run out of what I have now.
It's a very good setup but really needs more participation. To start the ball rolling (on my part) I'll find something that might help a noobie not to waste his money.
Shouldn't be too hard with some of the things I bought.
I voted other because I didn't know they existed. I find this Forum to be the most cumbersome to navigate of any that I frequent. I often can't find the things I know are here, let alone the others. .
I keep forgetting about them... of course I haven't been visiting lately because I had a web browser problem that caused this site to run slower than molasses in January. Fixed that, so I'll be around more.
I have posted there and used to check it out every week or so. Then, like many, completely forgot about it.
I brought it up once that it didn't standout enough so people could be reminded it even existed. Nothing came from this, so it is still obscured with the other 100 different topics .
Another thing that would help increase the reviews: if it was well understood that the person posting didn't have to make a professional presentation out of it, just give a quick pros-and-cons of the subject.
IMHO
Edit: To add, I would like to say that the idea is grand. It can help all of us in deciding on a particular item by making us aware of short-comings or give us ideas on construction/adjustment learned from the poster.
