Hey modelers friends !...here again...asking, this time, is about a recomendation on posibilitie of purchase a power source for my HO layout !. I have read in another forums, especially here in Chile, about the preferences in quality of MRC power supplies and some people get preferences first in MRC 1370 18VA power supply instead of anothers MRC models like 220, 220 and 260 Tech 4, is need to consider that Tech 4 models are newest than MRC 1370 and more expensives, what would your recomendation ?

Those who have MRC 1370 power supply could speak about ?
this model have not momentun !...but it's start moment is sudden or slow ?

I think you would be happier with the Tech 4 260. If you are planning on running any units such as BLI BlueLine that are sound equipped it would be nice to have the extra juice. The Tech 4 280 would also allow you to control 2 lines with the one controller.

Momentum DC power packs can be a real problem for modern engines. The simulate momentum be supplying DC power in rapid pulses to the motor. In orlder, open frame motors, that usually didn't cause a problem. Newer can type motors can build up heat rapidly and overhead when using momentum throttles. In most modern engines, the flywheels prodive all the momentum you need.

If you really want to stay with DC power, any of the Tech 4 line would be a good choice. If you're going to run DC sound and more than two trains at a time, the 260 would be the one to get but the 220 and 240 are cheaper and will work just as well for less demanding tasks.
