Just trying to get an idea what might be a close value for this n-scale stuff.

The train sets are all recent or current production Bachmann, as are most of the additional locomotives and rolling stock I can see. The buildings look like a mix of AHM and Atlas. The layout looks like someone made a start on a double track mainline with a small yard and a little scenery. The track appears to be Bachmann steel track laid on a cork roadbed.

The Bachmann train sets are decent quality, as are the other engines and rolling stock. It looks like they all still have Rapido couplers. This reduces the value somewhat to an N scale modeler that uses MT couplers. All the items in the first picture are probably worth at least $300 but you can can probably get more by parting them out on e-bay. The layout is more problematic. If you can find someone locally that wants it, the track and powerpacks might be worth $50. A half-finished layout with no particularly interesting features is probably worth not much more than scrap value.

Being more of a newb to the pricing of stuff, but still a shopper for it, I would agree with above. You would probably get more by parting it out. Like for instance on your layout. I personally wouldn't want the complete layout, but I would definitely be interested in the track. Same goes with all the rolling stock, loco's, and sets. Hopefully come tax time I will get to spend some money towards my collection of stuff, and the 2 engines at the bottom (the UP and CSX) would be something I would look at buying. I am just trying to give you a buyers perspective on what you have there, so I hope this helps you out some.

BTW, if you are looking at selling this stuff, and parting it out, let me know what you would ask for the loco's I mentioned, as well as some of the rolling stock...lol

thanks for all the imput guys. The only reason i was asking is because i have a chance to buy it all but have no clue what n scale stuff goes for. I mainly do ho scale but thought about putting a small n scale set up in my office.. maybe just a small shelf layout.

So id only use a few things and part out the rest. So by what your saying id assume sell the sets as sets and the rest piece by piece.

thanks Mike
